Nutrition is an essential part of equine health.
Each horse has a specific body type, weight tendency, work load, body chemistry, and taste, which calls for a need of a variety of food. At SIEC, we have grass hay, alfalfa/grass mix, and straight alfalfa available at all times. Additionally, we formulate our own feed recipe and obtain our grain from a family mill company, thus ensuring quality feed with all proper and essential nutrients. As a supplement to grain, we carry whole or rolled oats, barley, and beet pulp. Each horse receives exactly what is needed to reach and maintain optimum body condition. Specific feed plans can, of course, be discussed with owners.
